Papa & the Kids

During WF's break from work in Nov & Dec last year, he managed to take the opportunity to bond with the kids better. Especially with Zhi whom he hardly spend time with. Mostly, we went out with Ning since Zhi is still too young and less mobile.

I managed to capture some of the heartwarming snapshots of WF with the kids to share in this blog, like feeding Zhi which is so rare of him to do that. Other than that, we went to places like joining the Ducktour at Suntec, taking the DHL balloon and going to beach on Monday morning.

We left one last ticket for the Hippo bus tour which was sold in a package where you can take the duck tour, DHL balloon and Hippo bus tour for a cheaper price. The rides can be used any time within 3 months. And our last ticket is expiring soon...

CNY Come & Go

It seemed so fast that the 15 days of CNY is over. In Jan, we were still busy clearing up the Christmas decorations and putting up the CNY's. Now, its time to clear those ang bao fishes and butterflies I made and sticked on the walls. The only thing I didn't tear down are those cute little mice posters that amused Zhi so much. They looked really cute (see photos) that its a pity to throw them away. So I've decided to let them stay put on the wall until they fall out themselves.

This year's CNY is quite tiring for us. Bringing both kids all over the island on the first 2 days. And it wasn't easy to manage Ning because her ezcema flared up during that week. So towards the 3rd day of CNY, we decided we'll only bring either one kid along whenever we go visiting. At least its easier to manage and we can eat/catch up with friends better.

As usual, CNY is always a time to take pictures of the kids in their new clothes. My kids are not spared. I particularly like Zhi in the blue chinese romper.

Zhi's Two Front Teeth

I was saying in my previous post that there weren't much happenings between Dec and Jan. Well, just 2 days ago, while sorting out the photos in my camera, I realised we did have some "happenings" here and there. Especially for Zhi, between Dec and now, he did accomplish a few milestones. Probably I wasn't excited about it as I was during Ning's time since Zhi is the second child.

First, he finally managed to start crawling, forward and actively. Three legged style. But good news is, since Monday, he advanced into 4 legged. Second, his two front teeth finally erupted after some painful weeks of salivating and swelling of the gums. I've attached some of his smiling photos that showed his two front teeth.

As of now, he's able to pull himself up and learning to walk with support.

P.S: I've also attached some photos taken during my gathering with my ex-CC Training colleagues two weeks ago. Simon was in town to attend a workshop and we took the opportunity to catch up at Ben & Jerry's @ Dempsey Hill. It is my first time meeting Toby in person. The gathering was a short one, but its nice to see everyone fine and well.

Top 50 Facilitators in RP

The poly is into its semestral break and will reopen again in April. Meantime, I'm looking into taking on other training assignments and I hope this will give some variety into my otherwise predictable teaching in RP.

Talking about my predicatable teaching. Just when I was lamenting and getting absolutely angry at my students for plagiarizing some other students' work from another class on their last lesson, I received an email from our module chair that I "was among the top 50 facilitators who received positive feedbacks" from the student survey conducted end December.

There wasn't much info given at the moment. Not even the content of these feedbacks. But I just know it was a non-compulsory survey and there must be something about me that my students are willing to write good things about me (normally we're more willing to participate in a self-initiated survey when we have negative things to say).

Students can really make me laugh and cry.

Nothing Much

The blog has been put in "cold storage" for a while. Truth is, there weren't much things happening to us except for the fact that we took turns to get sick since 2nd week of Jan.

First it was Ning, who came down with stomach flu. Then it spread to Zhi. And I became the third in the family to be down with the virus. The virus is so potent. Because it went on to spread to my mum who helped take care of the kids when I'm at work or recuperating.

I was crossing my fingers and hoping that WF will not get it. Luckily, he didn't. I supposed it is true as to what he claims, regular exercise helps build up immunity. He's been playing badminton at least twice a week for some time now. Too bad for me, the moment I started my weekly Friday gym routine, I got sick within the month. Nevertheless, I intent to get back to exercise and hopefully shed away those newly formed fats after eating CNY goodies for breakfast everyday.

I promise more entries will be coming.
